The only thing sucks is being confined in a cramped plane with a ton of strangers for hours on end. Legs cramping from the lack of movement and eyes heavy from the lack of sleep. Also taking the long ways around miles long airports. Hoping to find a good place to sit and wait for the next flight. Which could be a matter of a few hours to a few minutes.
My first flight wasn't something to special. It was a red eye flight. Everyone managed to get a few ounces of sleep. Except me. I just stared out the blurry window until the sun started to rise. I woke up Tom and asked him to watch the sun rise with me. It was beautiful. watching the sky turn from red to orange and fading into the blue black. it was like a painting. I wish i had my camera then, I would've had so many beautiful shots to take.
The second flight I almost passed out a few times, only to be awaken by the pain in my ears because they refused to pop. My eyes stung by the brightness of the sun even though my windows were covered.
We landed in Milwaukee at around 8:30 am. The first thought that passed through my foggy, sleep deprived brain was that it reminded me so much of Maine. Homesickness set in and I wanted to cry, but I was way to exhausted to let it happen.
When we arrived at the hotel I met Tom's grandmother or Mim. She immediately gave me a hug and at first I flinched as I do whenever someone other than Tom touches me, but then I hugged her back. She is like the coolest Grandmother next to my own. Then I met his uncle Skip and Aunt Pam. When I first saw them, even before I said hello. I felt like I've known them for years.
Later on that night, Tom and I and all of the relatives here except for Tom's mother (who was sick at the time) went out to eat dinner at this old school restaurant. it was fun except when exhaustion kicked in. On the way there though we saw a bunch of nifty looking old fashioned houses. Tom and I found many that we wanted to live in someday. I asked him if we could move here, and he asked why not somewhere like it. Then I suggested Vermont or New Hampshire. He never answered me, not that I cared though.
Today was a little bit better. Tom and I barely slept though because his mom and mim kept us up by snoring and yelling out of frustration in their sleep. He didn't feel to well when it was time to meet for breakfast, so he got to sleep in. I skipped out on breakfast early and came back to "check" on him. It was the first time we've been alone on this whole trip. The alone didn't last long though. His mom came back within half an hour and then kept repeatedly leaving and coming back. Which frustrated us.
After awhile Kellie and some of her relatives went in search of a clothing store called Dots. We found it and immediately figured out that it wasn't their style. so we stopped and grabbed some lunch at BK and then headed over to K-mart next door. The other relatives left before Kellie and I because she was busy talking to Brian (her cousin or something). I left to go find them, which wasn't hard because all I did was walked across a parking lot the size of a football field (length not width) and successfully avoided being run over. It's super odd, I walked into K-mart and I immediately knew where everyone went. I first found Pam, then Amanda and Deloris (I think I spelled her name right).
Kellie came a little bit after and we bought Tom and I some flip flops (we left ours back in Vegas, and didn't want to wear shoes). Kellie also bought us some ear plugs so hopefully Tom and I will be able to sleep better tonight.
We have plans to go to the zoo and to go miniature golfing. as well as getting pedicures and I think that's it.
we have a BBQ to go to tomorrow. hopefully it'll be fun.
LATERS!
